901 Steering Parts
Was rebuilding my steering box since I had a bearing failure. I drove the steering shaft out and the sleeve came out in two pieces. It is aluminum, or at least non-ferrous. Can it be repaired by welding or some other method? If not, does anyone have a source for the part? I have tried eBay... -

Thank you for the response. I called my not-so-local New Holland dealer and that part is not available. I will take it to the welding shop to see what they can do. -

I'm trying to remove the steering shaft from the steering box. I have followed the I&T manual to the point where it states "withdraw worm shaft and eccentric sleeve from housing". The shaft doesn't pull out easily. Do I need to drive the bottom cup out by striking the top of the shaft or is... -

Looks like I need to either rebuild or replace the 961 steering box. Will a steering box off a 600 or 800 interchange? Thanks for any help. -

If you have the time to wait for shipping, they are good. If you need it now, go down the street to the local guys. I just bought new headlights for my 02 Malibu from them for $60 shipped.
