    John Deere 3020 no hydraulics or steering

    Make sure you look at the coupling at the front of the engine that drives the hydraulic pump. I have seen the splines stripped where the pump was not turning.

    What do you have for Oliver projects this winter

    I post very little but look at the posts often. I bought an Oliver 5440 plow last spring and am restoring it. I still have the Oliver 770 that my father bought in 1966 that I want use on the plow. It does not have the traction hitch now but i will probably look for one at some time.

    Conversion Gasket Set?

    I have rebuilt several Perkins engines from various makes of equipment and gaskets vary a lot. If I am working on one from White I buy from White, if from Massey I buy from Massey dealer. Front cover gaskets and seals seem to be the most problems. Just my experience.

    Stumped on 560 D

    I would be looking at the cylinder head for missing combustion chamber parts, friend had an Oliver 66 diesel doing the same thing. The energy cells were missing. We put them in and starts great. May have been taken out if head was reworked.

    John Deere 2640 crankshaft issue

    Make sure the balancers are on the correct side, it seems if I remember correctly JD said right and left balancers were viewed from the underside. Might be worth looking into.
