    IH 674 Engine clutch backplate and the PTO shaft

    The pto drive is through a splined coupling on the rear of the clutch pressure plate!! Sometimes the mating pto drive shaft or this coupler can wear badly with loss of drive. .

    Ah !! The infamous I & T aftermarket manual !!! Time to buy the genuine manual !! The filter bolt torque should be 12 - 16 lbft. ( 16 - 21Nm).

    If you have the genuine IH manual !!, look in group 11 page16 paragraph 10 tells you all you need to know?? Be careful do not over torque as this will distort the bowl and led to cavitation problems !!!

    Yes there is a breather!! Remove seat and access panel in base of cab or if non cab in seat deck. You will see breather in a flat plate under this access panel.
