? on plow at Schmatz Auction

Ran into this one last fall. Guy was asking $1200 for it. A little rich for my blood, and was concerned about the left hand wear parts which were rough.

    Flambeau Red - Rustoleum Mix

We used to mix Allis orange I think 2 parts to 1 part red I think in the Rustoleum paint that grandpa had on hand at the store. The color looked pretty good. Until it turned pink. Learned later that it was se type of incompatibility of color mixing. Same brand and type of paint. I don't...

Case DCS left side steering arm needed

Erick Jacobsen bought a junk DCS on that sale to replace the welded front axle on the DCS he already has. It is certainly possible that he would have extra parts you are looking for.

    CC steering stop

There is a bracket that bolts on to the 2 bolts on the top transmission cover just below the steering arm shaft that acts as a stop. It was removed when converting to wide standard front, when the steering arm went down instead of up. Later DC's had the stop cast into the top cover itself...

    The Hesselman Diesel

If they were burning a very low octane fuel on a spark ignition engine, which this was, a low compression would probably be necessary to avoid pre-ignition. I think the low cost fuel heads on these (L's) were probably at that 6:1 or so.

    Case do rear tire size

    14.9 x 26 was a standard size on the D/DO models. Even a 16.9 will fit, if the rims are widened. The 13.6 was also a standard size, but they look a little small in my opinion. 13.6 replaced a 12 14.9 replaced a 13 16.9 replaced a 14 18.4 replaced a 15 A 13" tire on a 13" rim should be just...

1959? CASE 400 rear wheel rust repair

I think the correct term for the rims on all the tapered axle wheels on the Case is Deep Well or Drop Center. A single bevel is same as a double bevel, except there is only one bevel built into the rim. I think the row crops quit using the drop center rim after the Flambeau models?

Case 800 vs 400 parts interchange

By 400 utility, you aren't referring to a 400B? Because those will not interchange.

    Case vac piston size

That would make sense, but on the other hand, it would mean the 2 similar weight pistons would be paired together (1 & 4, or 2 & 3) reciprocating against the 2 other similar weight pistons. Balancing all 4 pistons in weight would seem like a good idea I guess.

    Case wheel Weights

Yep.... I'm getting stronger everyday on the road to recovery.

Went past this lineup today auction next week

A lot of nice items on that sale. The CASE decals on the 1468 and 1568 make me chuckle. I bet they don't stay on long after the sale.

    Case wheel Weights

I'd agree that $100 a pair is a fair price. Those weights will fit any standard tread Case with a tapered axle rear hub. Not any with sliding axle like row crops. S, D, LA, 400, 500, 600, up through B series and 30 series.

    Rollag#4

I met some people, and missed some people as well. I did meet one odd fellow wearing a hard hat, even in the absence of any apparent cranial dangers. As he appeared to be a spry fellow, I had him climb around on a combine and snap some pics for me. He bought me some coffee, I bought him some...

    Couple of favorite Rollag pics

Grant put a lot of time and effort into planning his display. I know he was looking forward to being able to visit with people and share information. I think he had an enjoyable time, and we really appreciate what he did.
