Rant--Big Co. depends on one man

I guess I agree with those reccomending paticence. As to comparing auto salvage with farm equipment salvage, there is a lot of difference based on my experiences. Ag equipment salvage buyers compete with several others at auctions to buy compared to auto salvage competing with only other auto...

    Idiot season /Deer Hunters

Most of the problems I see talked about here can be controled by passing and enforcing laws within your state. Texas landowners and merchants are dependent on income generated by hunting. I wouldn't say Texas laws are extensive nor strict but are clear to the point and enforced. When caught...

    craigslist

Yes,it is much too common for sellers not responding. The nonsense going on with Craigslist isn't much different than what happens while dealing with the public in general. I think much of it is because idiots can remain anonymous. Ever notice the down turn in late night wrong number phone...

Has PEX plumbing issues been solved????

The fact plumbers use it probably indicates they expect future work repairing/replaceing it. Case of point, one piece angle stops with ribbed supply. You can't disconnect one after a couple of years without cracking it. Even if the homeowner has nessary knowledge and tools to solder, how many...

    OT/ Black walnuts

There was one tree in my grandfathers north Texas yard which made baseball size green walnuts. Interestingly, they clung to the tree until the husk was black and starting to schrivel. Shortly after falling the husk was much easier to remove than any other I have encountered. Several trees...

    Best Deal on a Tool

I bought a black rubber garden hose from Sears in 1965 (I remember only because thats the year I stsrted worked for them). As far as I know it has spent every day since outdoors. It is still flexiable and easier to roll up than any other hose on the place. Sure wish I could buy trailer and...

    Worst Tool Ever Bought

Boss sent his flunky to help us build a wood plank fence. Told me to use company charge account to buy "cheapest"claw hammer available since this guy probably never need it again. By noon the cast iron head mushroomed, split off a shard imbedding it the guy's arm. I took the guy to get tetnus...

    Interesting Situation.......

I don't even know what color the Ex is or in what state all this is going down. Were it Texas,I would advise Bob not to use same approch he did with the poles because destroying them would cost his company many times over what writing them off would. I probably wouldn't want the Ex either but...

    Rattle Can Test

I don't have pictures but I "accidently"preformed an experiment 8 years ago while cleaning the nozzel on rattle can clear acrylic. I inverted the can and sprayed an old faded red fender. The imediate resulting shine was barly short of stunning. Exposed to the elements the shine finaly started...

MF35 blowing water out of rad cap

I'm thinking along same lines as miner. Combustion pressure leaking into coolant. You can buy test strips at NAPA to see if combustion gas is present in coolant. If that isn't the problem maybe you didn't put the t-stat in and the pump is pushing coolant to fast.

    hay bale tire-kickers rant

To bad it isn't in Texas. Cows are about tired of beans for breakfast, beans for lunch and more mesquite beans for dinner.

    Selling Home ,Opinions???

It's up to you to make certain the lien is recorded. I am carrying the note on real estate I recently sold mainly to spread income that is limited as far as taxable S.S. income. Were it not for the I.R.S. circling overhead,I would draw every cent from my IRA to invest partly in mortgages. But...

What would you have done in these situations?

I put an old motor bike out front with for sale sign,no price. Guy asks what I wanted for it. $50 I told him. He test rode and offed $40. I turned it down. My neighbor recovered seat for $10. Guy returns and says he will take it for $50. Nope,I need $60. He stoomps off telling me what I...

    locust trees

Brush killer, broad leaf weed killer,2-4-D,2-4-5T,silvex will all do a creditable job in bermuda, biaha, fescue and other grass hay when properly used. All legumes, alfalfa, clovers, broad leaf plants will be killed and reseeding will not be possiable for 2 or 3 years. On the bright side, the meadow...
