    John Deere 40, 420, 430 Crawler-Dozer capabilities

    If you have the time they can do the job but not as fast as a 1010 or 350 but they are fun to play with I have had two 420 John Deere crawlers and one 450c if you want to get your work done fast get a 350 or 450 . and keep your wrench's handy.

    I own a 4066r this the next size down i have a CID grapple for it we use it to load logs on to our saw mill last week I loaded a 31 inch 8 foot long white pine log on the mill that is a heavy lift. this tractor is 66 horse and it will do every thing I need to do I am quite sure the 5105 will...

    It's all in which has the best dealer in your area I would go with the JD we have a very good dealer about 45 miles from us the MF dealer is close to 60 miles and have not dealt with them.

    Safety Glasses

    I wear safety glasses but after 20 30 minutes they fog up grr and i have to use just screen shield. I am 76 and have logged and run chain saws since i was 9 or 10 and have had more than few close calls. Randy

    I have welded tons of sub arc wire hand held is hard on the wrists mine are shot . Once you get the hang of it it is not that hard to do and silicosis from the dust can be a problem also I had 39 years of sub arcing .

    I think saddle soap would do the job and then neets should be good to go.

    Cant sleep

    If I could sleep till 4:30 I would consider it a very good nights sleep I am up by 2:30 that makes for a looong day. Maybe take a nap .
