    who knew?

Well, I'd say they've been makin' ethanol ever since the first cave man got schlockered on grape juice that was starting to turn.

Belly pump is out, now what?

I need to replace the manifold gasket on my H hydraulic pump. I got the pump out along with 47,352 mud dauber nests and a mouse condo complex. I can see where the gasket is blown out. But I can't get the manifold off. I removed the pump from the reservoir, and it looks like 2 bolts are holding...

    Temp Gauge

As long as we're on this topic, the heat guage on my '47 H never moves off cold. Even when I had spent the whole day dragging logs up an Ozark hillside, the guage still read cold. I have 2 1/2 theories, but would appreciate some input. One theory is a stuck needle. Another is a bad sender or guage.

    Belly pump

Had my '47 H hooked up to the log splitter today. Worked great except for the shower of hydraulic fluid coming out of the tractor. It was coming out just behind the belly pump from the bottom of the tractor. So, I'm assuming a bad seal. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "any idiot with a crescent...

    Rear Duals

One benefit if you still use the tractor for working crops is less soil compaction. The weight is spread over a bigger footprint so it doesn't sink in as deep.

    3 point drifts down

Another possibility....contaminated hydraulic fluid might be foaming allowing air into the system.

    wide front for a h

I'm just off of 54. Farm actually borders 54 hiway but access is off a gravel county road.

    Drag link replacement

Got a '39 9N. A previous owner put the wrong drag links on it. He made it work by bending the links, but as time goes by, the links have been straitening and now I have one wheel going straight and the other about 45 degrees out. Makes for some interesting rides on a gravel road in hi gear...

    WooHoo! H hydraulics work!!!

I posted some time back about running a log splitter off my belly pump. Well, I finally got all the hoses connected, the return line fitted to the filler/breather and the valve on the splitter hooked up. Gave it a try today and sure enough, works like a charm. I suppose that old pump hadn't been...

Hey Old and Mike. Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm just a bit south of Eldon.

    H hydraulic fluid return

I'm going to try to hook up a double acting ram to my tractor's belly pump. I have the directional valve I need, but need some help with the external plumbing. I've seen pictures of a modified filler/breather where the return line Ts into it. Well, I ain't got that. Since this was going to be a...

    Exhaust pipe threads

OK, so..... O/A torch, wire wheel and re-tap if needed with 2 inch pipe. Luckily, I have a btother-in-law who is a retired plumber. I'll see if he has the taps and dies still left.

    Exhaust pipe threads

    Oops. That's a '47 Farmall H. Gas only motor.

    Exhaust pipe threads

A previous owner braized a piece of pipe onto the manifold. Needless to say, the braize didn't hold. I figured I'd put it back to right. Looking through online parts catalogs, I can see the exhaust pipe is threaded into the manifold. But my manifold threads are coated in a heavy layer of carbon...

Farmall H and a log splitter

I just came into possession of a log splitter with a blown 11 horse B&S motor. I was thinking of using my H to operate it, but wanted to get some opinions on the best option. Option 1 is to use the belly pump on the H with some longer hoses. But I'm not sure if my pump even works. And if it...
