    Wood Stoves

Ever hear of "unintended consequences?" A case in point, low flow toilets. At first glance, it sounds like a good idea to use less water on each flush. But the unintended consequence was that folks often had to use more flushes. In the end, they ended up using more water. Another case in point...

Price of food 19 years ago

Back several years ago, you could go to the store with a dollar and come home with 2 loaves of bread, a gallon of milk, 5 pounds of taters, a pound of butter and a sack of flour. Can't do that today. Too D@m many security cameras.

    OT- Occupational licenses

I still hold a Missouri Teaching certificate for secondary mathematics. Common Core and "entitled" students combined to make me hang it up and raise hogs.

    First tractor

My first bought with my own money is a '46 Farmall H. I paid $600 to an individual. Bought it in 2012. Since then, I've added a 3 pt. hitch and new back tires.

What powers the economy in your area?

Miller County, MO Cattle, timber and tourism. I have 3 sawmills within a mile of me. I've also been able to keep my bills paid in the winter just selling firewood. Cattle are booming right now. Then again, there's a lot of money coming in via meth.

OT - unless maybe they include tractor related accidents

I lived in Rhode Island for 17 years. I can attest to the pi$$ poor driving habits of that state. I've seen things most people can't even imagine. Need to make a left turn onto a busy street? No problem. Just pull out and block everything coming from the right until there's a space on the left...

    Tractor music

I want to get in on this jam. So, in the opinion of my fellow YTers, what goes better with dobro? A Ferguson TO-30 or a Farmall H?

What kind of guns you guys keep around the farm?

For farm work (copperheads or euthanizing severly injured livestock) I use a .22 revolver. Also have-in no particular order- H&R shotguns in 10, 12 and 20 gauge, a H&R 12 gauge slug gun, a Remington rifle in .270 Winchester, Marlin .22 and a Savage model 24 in .22 LR over .410 shotgun.

    H Belly pump flow rate

I'm getting a feed auger soon. Factory wants to know what size hydro motor to put on it. I figure I'll be using the H for this chore, so I need a ball park figure for my flow rate. As far as I know, it's the stock 500 psi set up. e-mail is open

    Quote for the day.

I had a 320 pound barrow on custom finish in a separate pen from the other hogs. One day, he decided to bust through 3 gates and walk up the loading chute and go for a walk around the neighborhood. A week later was his date with the butcher. It was a little fight to get him through the first...

    Any truth to this?

Two wrongs don't make a right, but two Wrights make an airplane.

OT: Older songs that have great voices and harmonies

I'm a '67 model myself. But when I read the title of the thread, I instantly thought of Buck Owens and Don Rich.

    Multi-use Gooseneck trailers

They are still around. Doesn't need to be a gooseneck as the stock racks are sold separately.
