    856 custom

This is so kewl! I learn new things every time I log into this group. . This board recommended I look for a 656 or 856 [b:654c4848f0]utility[/b:654c4848f0]. So what is the difference between the others and the "utility?"

IH Gas Cap offer Extended Indefinitely!!!

I got mine just a couple weeks ago (yeah, I kept forgetting). Filled out a form on the web site, and bingo. No questions asked. So, why does OEM charge $33 for the same thing? Hmmm, because they can? . Does anyone remember the web site?

Super A 3 point hitch - Think I am done. For now...

**VERY** nice! . I told my wife the other day that by the time I add power steering, live hydraulics and 3-point hitch, by the time I rebuild the engine and the hydraulics, I will have more money into my 1951 M than it would cost to buy a 656 with a loader. She said, "Yeah, but I *LIKE* the M."...

what if ? CASE didn't buy ih

There is real American heritage here. J.I.Case and all the other tractor companies that did not survive. Commercial jetliner companies... No McDonnel-Douglas. No Lockheed. No Martin. Boeing only. Thank goodness they're kicking butt and taking names! Airbus is a joke. Car companies have...

    Case Vai HELP???

I forgot about magnetos (I must be dain bramaged!). I don't know much about those. And I agree--Get the manual. . Assuming a distributor, the points are up under the distributor cap and up under the rotor. But you may want to just do a thorough tune up to be sure the distributor system is up...

    Case Vai HELP???

Lots of possibilities. I assume you've checked for spark and you're not getting it. . Shorted points? Have you replaced the points? Is the inside of the distributor clean? Spray-on contact cleaner may help. Make it clean enough to eat out of, then lube the points cam. . Worn points cam...

    F-30 piston/sleeve pics - Bad news

If you can get better ones, GREAT! If you're stuck with these, try Egge Machine (egge.com). They specialize in parts for "obsolete" engines. If they can't help, try talking to a few chrome plating shops or airplane parts places. They can actually build-up the material in the cylinder and...

    What should I get next?

I hadn't thought about the utility's! Mental block, dain bramage or something. I hadn't thought about octane on the gas either. About the diesels... I'd still feel very wary about working on it. Probably just because I've never worked on one, and they've got all these strange new parts like...

    What should I get next?

Once you get one tractor...My 1951 M is a neat piece of iron, but I was looking at getting something with more grunt to it. I am considering something in the '06-'56 series, like a 656, but I'm not hard over on either the series or that particular model. I need to do more earth-moving...

    Sucker rod project

POR-15 is the stuff the auto restorers use when they can't get into all the corners and crevices. This stuff "converts" the rust and then coats it. Great stuff.

    O/T Burned to the ground.......

Many years ago, a friend of mine was working on the fuel tank of a genuine Mitsubishi A6M, also known as the Japanese Zero of WWII fame. There are only 4 or 5 in the world and only a couple left flying. You guessed it, the fuel tank ignited. Only quick thinking saved the airplane. They had...

    Bifference Between A Chevy 366 and 396?

OK... This will make me out to be a heretic, but here goes. Find a wrecked Firebird/Trans Am of about the same year as your Camaro. Look for one with a 455 in it. Then just swap over everything. No adapting anything. Nothing has to be cobbled together. No Rat motor issues. And those BOP...

    Putting vinyl onto cd,s

I've got a CD Burner in my stereo rack. So, I don't have a problem with this at all. My dad runs the output of his stereo amp (record out) to the line in on his PC Sound Card. Then, he records to his harddrive. When he wants a CD, he just cuts it from his harddrive. That works well for him...
