    I've used buckwheat but plant it late spring to mid summer. local farmer i know plants the perimeter of his soybeans with it to help keep deer off his beans. says they like it more than the beans. also have used an assortment of biologic foods.

    gwstang we'll disc this up to level it down, hand cast seed, and use a rotto hoe to cover in seed. has worked well in past. the disc would do similar to rotto hoe if you get ground worked up well. this soil has lots of clay and is HARD so we plow first.

    I leave mine out side but I take them off on top of a set of cinder blocks to allow air flow under them, and clean the top of leaves and chaff. don't need to put holes in mine, it already looks like Swiss cheese. LOL.
