    My title pretty much says what I could use help on. I want to save the distributor shaft in the attached photo without damaging it. Should I be able to pull it straight out? Or do I need remove the governor? Thank you for your time.

    My Operators manual does not indicate what lubricant should be used in a 1550 Oliver. In the process of purging all the fluids. I'm think 80-90 ?

    _Ya a new gasket is pushing $200. Early in life we did a lot together then we took different directions. for some 50 + years. I really wouldn't have the know how to make this happen unless there was a you tube video to follow.

    Blackhole49. Yikes that's 2/3 the cost of the mower I bought. I'll have to look at the Model/serial # on the engine and see if a new carb with shutoff valve is a possibility.

    I guess I will put in an inline shut off. I didn't mention that I'm not the only person using this mover as it's at the cabin. I could purchase a new car too? Norman ST I like you handle and also your comment on the 2 PSI.
