    JD planter problem

    We are having the same problem also. We have to hold the plant/lower lever down until the center section of the planter lowers to the level of the wings and then start driving. We have no obvious leaks or damage. Would really like to find a fix for this.

    I was really meaning installing a 12 volt alternator, negative grounding, a single 12 volt battery, and possibly solid state ignition. Sorry for the confusion; typing and thinking at the same time is just too much multi-tasking.

    I do not have a cultivator unit and use my lift cylinders on other implements and mowers. I tee'd my cylinders together and plumbed them into the port on the hold valve.     WD-45 quitting

    Mine used to do that after I converted it to 12 volts to include the coil, but not the points condenser. Put in a 12 volt condenser and the the problem stopped. I later installed a Pertronix solid state ignition system and have never looked back.

    WD,WD-45 Hand clutch.

    If your WD has a stock 2 disc hand clutch unit and your engine has been upgraded to WD45 power your hand clutch unit should have been upgraded to a 3 disc WD45 stock unit.

    WD-45 Drain and Fill Plugs for gear oil.

    There is one in each final drive on the inner face of each final drive pan. They have no drain plugs.

    As Maark said those Ballast resisters do go bad. Don"t ask me how I know this. It is a cheap and easy thing to replace and see what happens. Better yet is to put on a coil with an internal resister.
