    8n Conundrum

Yep! Hope is nice, but a bad rod bearing on that cylinder is most likely what is wrong.

    Positive Ground

Hook the charger up according to the battery terminals, i.e. pos to pos and neg to neg, regardless of how you have the battery wired to the tractor.

I didn"t see your other post, but I have to ask. You are shifting while sitting dead still aren"t you. You cannot shift while moving.

    Autolite 437

Autolite 85 IS NOT the same as Autolite 437. The kid behind the parts counter is WRONG. Autolite 85 IS a resistor plug with a different heat range and a slightly shorter reach than the 437. The 437 is NOT a resistor plug. As the others have said, for best results on your N, use the 437.

    OT Internet explorer problem

Rather than reload the whole operating system, just boot from the windows CD and run the repair program. After you select the repair program and get to a "DOS" type screen, type "chkdsk /r" and ENTER. That process will repair many/most corrupted files and it is much faster than reloading the...

    O.T. Flatheads Return?

The only two engine options shown on the 2008 Tahoe Build and Price website are the 4.8 and 5.3 L V8 Vortec engines. I do not believe that they are flatheads.

    Polarizing NAA Regulator

Yea Bob!!! I spent years trying to explain that, but I finally realized that people not only don"t understand it, they don"t care. They just want to know which point to jumper to which other point to make it work. I hope that you keep saying it right. I just gave up.

12 volt system 9N Electrical Problem

I agree with BOB. A 20 amp switch is what I would use. It should last forever. If kids might be around the tractor, use a keyswitch for safety.

    Ground strap

I agree with the others. Do not pull a head bolt or use a head bolt for the ground strap. Steering box bolt is best location. Do you have the original 6V electrical system? 6V battery? If so, positive cable from the positive terminal on the battery is supposed to go to ground. If you have a 12V...

12 volt system 9N Electrical Problem

OK, you have the diode in correctly. Try disconnecting one side of the switch or ,if you have a vom, turn the switch off and check the resistance across it. With the switch off it should be infinity, open circuit. If not, that's your problem. I think you kinda already knew that, but just...

12 volt system 9N Electrical Problem

Be sure that you have the diode installed in the corect direction. Since it is not working now, try reversing it.
