    Check that it can turn freely by hand. The switch on my grinder burnt out when I accidentally had the guide touching the grinding wheel.

    Thanks for the above info. I'll pass it on to my friend and see if he needs anything else. In New Zealand we don't have huge selection of these older balers so beggars can't be choosy.

    Has anyone used this to paint tractor

    I think with those cheaper guns you need to thin the paint down. I've used a Wagner paint gun (doesn't need the paint thinned) that looks similar to paint my tractor mud guards. It did a brilliant job. I was very happy with it.

In both 2wd and AWD all four wheels are turning just not the transfer case & extra two diffs, If you haven't used...

    Unfortunetly, that doesn't really help. I pull all the bird netting out and use the tractor but it will be back the next day when you go to use it. I could understand it if I didn't use it for a month but overnight is just painful.

    If it was just under the seat I wouldn't worry. But it on top of the engine and in the fan. And the poo is everywhere.

And currently the birds are busy building nests in it. I just pulled all the nesting material out yesterday and it's basically all back today...

    Truck on board air compressor

    You could try one of 12v compressors aimed at the 4wd crowd available from many places. For instance this dual head one (300L = ~10.6cfm). Can't say how good it will be for a blow gun. Lots smaller than having to fit a big tank and portable.

    Best way to repair front axle pivot wear

    Yes that's definitely an option. A bit more of a mission to do as requires pulling the diff out and apart, removing bearings etc so worth doing a few less invasive repairs first I think.
