MF 283 Runs for 20-30 minutes then dies...

My MF 283 starts right up, runs for 20-30 minutes under load, then chokes down and dies. It begins to lose power and sometimes a popping sound is heard, then dies. Sometimes it powers down a bit, regains power, then eventually chokes down. Increasing the throttle does nothing. Generally it...

    Harvest!

Clearing out and sorting thousands of photographs, mainly slides, from 50+ years. What a task. Came upon this stackyard from 1970, on my grandfather's (later to be my own) farm in Scotland. Good day on the tractor.

Put in a full day mowing yesterday, 13 hours, $1040 in the pocket and 15 gallons of diesel...wish all days were like that. 3 acres was river bottom, 1st gear work...rest was fairly easy, spots of heavy reed/canary in low spots. What would you call a good day?

    Tractor History

Hello all! I'm new to this forum and had a question for you. I have my Grandfather's 1955 Farmall 200 and will begin restoring it hopefully in the near future. Are there sources to trace a tractor back through the years to see who all owned it, where it was used, where it was originally...
