    Basket Case Starter problems

    I'm just North of Grand Island Ne. The starter I have is pretty much toast. The armature is badly chewed up on the end and the fields are shorted together in a couple of spots. This thing has been really hot at sometime.

    Ok I know that I could get another 6 volt. I have been doing mechanic work for over 40 years. My customer wants to go 12 volt if it is possible, because we have modified the engine it takes a little more to turn it over. this is also for the x2 and x3 and x4 guys also.

    I have a Auto-lite MZ4114 starter off my Case VAI that is bad and I'm wanting to convert it to 12volt. Can anyone tell me if they make a 12 volt equivalent and what the numbers would be?

The rear-end and front end have all ready been completely rebuilt, and I mean completely right down to every little bolt and nut...

    hank-you, that is what I've been told is the rear wheels and the front end or the biggest difference, and that a lot of the parts will interchange but not all will.

I have no numbers (except casting #'s) except the hand stamped number on the top right hand corner of the block as seen in the picture. Can anyone help...

    Ok I'll try this again. here are a few pictures of the tractor I purchased. There is no tag where it is supposed to be the only number i can find (besides casting #'s are on the right hand side of the engine.

    I have tried that and as far as as I get is that they don't monitor it the site belongs to somebody else or something like that anyway you just wind up chasing your tail in circles but thanks anyway.
