    Allis IB

My ib is 3527, which is approx 1955 model. Definitely more than 2850 made as they used B numbers for their first years.

Small crack in block model C between #2 and #3 sleeve

It would be odd to not see cracks between the tops of the cylinders on the AC B, C, C, and CA engines.

    Unusual B

You should look into an ib tractor. They are low to the ground and easy to get on and off from the rear. Otherwise, they are the same as a B.

Fuel shutoff valve on an Allis C

It is a needle valve. It can be redressed to seal better. Sometimes leaks are at fittings - often used rope-like wadding (not teflon). New filter assemblies are available for under $25.

    Painting

As long as the old paint is on good and not contaminated (oil/silicon), it works well as a base coat. Skuff it with red/coarse Scotch Brite before top coating it.

    Allis Chalmers B Cylinder Head

No. Same head for later AC engine.

Max speed for Allis B ?

A B with factory gov spring and 9.5x24 tires goes 7.5mph. Using 11.2x24 gets you about 9mph. Add CA trans with 11.2x24 tires will get you at least 13mph due to taller final drive ratio than a CA.

    CA rear rims

    Farmall A rims bolt on.
