    John Deere 317 vs LT 190 opinions please!

    i'd get the 317...much more rugged built...I have a 318 with the onan w/ over 30,000 hours on it,still running...uses some oil,but runs decent.

    it used to have rear pto,mower,3pt hitch,front 3 pt hitch and hydraulic tiller...but all that has been sold off over the years....my dad bought this when it was only 2 yrs old.

    i'd save it...would be well worth fixing up to a daily driver/farm use truck....they don't make them like that anymore..besides it is a ford..:)

    drained tank and fresh gas...seems to have fixed the miss...runs pretty smooth now.

    deere 318 onan b series

    removed intake and found a stripped bolt...fixed bolt and resealed intake..no leaks found..no change....checked carb as well.

    spark will jump a 3/4 inch gap w/ bright blue spark...switched plugs from side to side,no change...seems to be a fuel issue...if I flood it out for a sec both cylinders will fire for about a minute,then back to missing. thanks for all the responses...

    spark looks good....cranked over w/ intake and exhaust removed and valves are moving,havent pulled head yet to check valve seats...upper bolt in head gonna twist before it comes out ,i'm afraid.repower not in the budget...gonna sell it if comes to that...was my dads,so hate to get rid of it.

    deere 318 onan b series

    lost left cylinder....seems to fire intermittently changed plugs,resealed intake,cleaned points and no arching, 90 psi compression in both cylinders...plug is dry after running and white.will run with left plug wire unhooked, but wont run with right side unhooked.does has over 30,000 hours on...

    tiller attachment for jd 318

    I have a hydraulic run rear mount tiller for a jd 318 in good shape with mounts...wondering what its worth...any ideas.can get some pics if necessary.

    Engine surge when not under load

    check the carb flange mount bolts,they may be loose and allowing an air leak...happens with my onan twin a lot...makes it surge.

    OT (weather)

    lite rain and cool(low 70"s) here all day in binghamton area of NY...down to 64 tonight as i"m typing this with lite rain still at 11:00.

    Ethenol a Problem ?

    i use ethanol neutralizing stabilizer by stabil...the ethanol eats the rubber lines,gaskets and carb floats...what i was told by local mech.I use the stabilizer in everything including my older vehicles..
