    Ford 841 engine oil pump

Before I get tearing things back down this weekend.... Where are the galley plugs located? I assume they must be somewhere under the front cover- since I'm not seeing any oil leaks- or is there any way of seeing from the bottom with the pan off?

    Ford 841 engine oil pump

Recently was running my 841 into town when I completely lost oil pressure- spun a rod bearing. On Disassembly, no obvious signs of damage to the oil pump other than the hex drive shaft had a fair amount of wear on it- I replaced it. The one thing I couldn't check was the pressure relief valve- I...

    Borderline Overheating

Just a old school trick for a older tractor with a Copper/Brass Radiator. Not sure if it will help with anything such as aluminum. If your tractor has been running warm, and is now borderline hot, heres a couple of tricks I learned years ago in the radiator shop. 1. Clean the outside...

    Decisions, Decisions

Did forget to mention one small factor for me to look into this- In my job, I typically have to drain all my fuel sumps to the tune of a gallon and half a day. And (I know its hard to imagine) Its hard to get rid of 40-50 gallons of Jet A a month. I do use a couple of gallons in the 841 tanks...

    Decisions, Decisions

Ok, I am VERY tempted by a couple of ads I've seen on Facebook 2 months or so ago, I was looking to get a tractor in the 40-60 hp range. I was wanting diesel, slow low gear, reasonable road gear, easy to use. What I bought was a Ford 841. Dont feel I did badly wirh it, bought it w blade and...

    Hydraulics/ 3 pt hitch question - 841 Powermaster

Was out at the farm a bit this afternoon, decided to do some blade work since the rains last week washed out a bit of the south driveway. After a while, went back to the car a second. Had the blade in the up position- I noticed the blade and hitch would drop about 11/2"-2", then go back up...

Grandpa, Agree on teaching them Safety first. But like to have something that will act as a "insurance policy" in case they do something a teen boy would do. Already giving seatbelts some thoughts- primarily with regards to mounting provisions- Hmm, wonder if the 4point set I got for a Huey...

Wayne, Did know about the 10& 15 spline versions. Also know that somewhere in that timeframe Ford started producing the shermans, just was wondering if there was any changes when they went to the Thousand series
