    Super-A hydraulic Problem

    I had that happen on mine once, Behind the battery box on the lower right side of the head, there was a small orfice that was plugged up with a piece of grit or sand. If you have the drawing it"s #30.

    I'd just pull the plugs & look at them, then while they're out, spin it over with the hand crank or starter to pump some oil around, then put them back in & see if it starts.

    My SA was built in early '49. First time I had to take the head off, I went into the dealer for a new head gasket. He asked me if it had a water pump or not.     Make sure you don't get the gasket for an engine with a water pump on it, they have smaller water passage holes.

    Farmall A stalling at high RPMs.

    While it's running, try to remove the air cleaner oil cup, and see if it has a lot of suction against it. You might have a mud dobber nest in the intake pipe beyond the precleaner. It might be getting enough air to run, but not enough to make any power.(Happened to me!)

    Husky YTH2048 mower tranaxle

    Super A belly mower vs newer residential mower

    I"ve used a SA with Woods L-59 for 25 years to cut about 2-1/2 acres. I finally broke down & bought a 52" Hustler ZTR with a 19 HP Kawasaki 2 cyl.
