Need help with first start-up in 2 years!

I'd just pull the plugs & look at them, then while they're out, spin it over with the hand crank or starter to pump some oil around, then put them back in & see if it starts.

    Super A Clutch

If you go to the trouble to split it, you might as well go ahead and just put a new clutch in it. I think they used two different ones. I think they were either Auburn or Rockford. Can't remember which one mine took, I replaced it about 25 years ago. Quite a job, that front end was hard to...

    Farmall Super A motor rebuild.

My SA was built in early '49. First time I had to take the head off, I went into the dealer for a new head gasket. He asked me if it had a water pump or not. I said "no" and he brought out a different gasket than I took off. Turns out the gasket for my engine had larger water passage holes so...

Farmall A head to Super A swap

Make sure you don't get the gasket for an engine with a water pump on it, they have smaller water passage holes.

Farmall A stalling at high RPMs.

While it's running, try to remove the air cleaner oil cup, and see if it has a lot of suction against it. You might have a mud dobber nest in the intake pipe beyond the precleaner. It might be getting enough air to run, but not enough to make any power.(Happened to me!)

    Farmall A quits running

My SA used to do the same thing 15 years ago when I switched from leaded to no-lead gass. And it got worse, down to about every ten minutes. I took the head off, and a few of the valves were so tight, they would stick in the guides when everything got warmed up. I started using a lead substitute...

    Husky YTH2048 mower tranaxle

I hate to sound dumb but I don't have a manual on my lawn mower. It is getting jerky to move and I believe it has a hydraulic transaxle but where do I check or fill the oil? Has been getting slow in forward and reverse and now won't move. I can't locate a level guage. Can someone help me...

Super A belly mower vs newer residential mower

I"ve used a SA with Woods L-59 for 25 years to cut about 2-1/2 acres. I finally broke down & bought a 52" Hustler ZTR with a 19 HP Kawasaki 2 cyl. I cut my mowing time by 1/3 and eliminated string trimming completely. But the ZTR is very noisey and dirty, throws up clippings & dust all the time...

    FILTERS

I use the C/IH J934430 Ultra MicroLoc on my 97 Dodge/Cummnins. It has 310,000 on it now, and I change the oil & filter on it about every 7,000. The filter is supposed to be used for extended oil change intervals & severe service. I couldn"t find true Fleetguards around here, but found out they...

    Glow Plugs

I had a VW rabbit diesel once, and it needed at least one plug replaced every fall. don't use Champions, get Bosch if you have a choice. I had the entire tips break or burn off on the highway with the Champions. I would take off the hot wire, and check them with a continuity tester. Once, I had...
