    Also if you get the filter from Deere it won't come with the housing gasket, you need to purchase it separately. If you get the filter from NAPA or other sources it comes with the gasket.

    There should be an oil pressure switch near the oil pressure sender that only allows the meter to run when the engine s running.

    Do you have a holder like this on the transmission? It's design is to keep the transmission in gear. Could also have bad springs and detent balls in the cover.
