    Tea 20 Electronic Problem

Hi Guys, I have installed a electronic ignition in my tractor and it was running great. All of a sudden it quit. It has no spark so right away I suspected the electronics. I installed a brand new one and here is what is going on now. I have only the ignition switch and starter hooked up to...

    Electronic ignition tea20

Hello, I have installed a new electronic system in my Fergie. Few months back and it has been running well. Yesterday it quit and there is no spark. I suspect it is the unit or the ignition switch. If I run a wire from the positive post at the battery to the positive side of the coil would this...

    TEA 20 Wiring

My tractor is a negative ground 12 volt system so all I need is a diagram to redo the system. It all began with a rotted voltage regulator and broken wires throughout. I have since bought a new regulator and electronic ignition system and require a wiring diagram to rewire the tractor 12 volt...

    TEA 20 Wiring

Thanks Bob but I need negative ground due to an electronic module in the distributor to replace the points. Can a guy not take a positive ground diagram and place negative wires where there are positive wires and end up with a negative ground system????

    TEA 20 Wiring

Hello, I have the tea 20 and need some help rewiring it to a 12 volt negative ground. The wiring was in poor repair and some missing so I am basically starting from scratch. I have a new regulator and the Lucas 2 wire generator. I only want the battery to charge and do not require a charging...

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Hi Steve, Just to clarify a few things the tractor was being brought into the shop for a new regulator as the old one was rotten and this is when it started to act up. All the electrics were removed and the coil, ignition switch, points, condenser and battery were replaced. It did this one time...

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Ok Steve heres another one for you if you should be so kind....The damn thing starts right away and runs well for 20 seconds and then sputters and coughs and quits. If it was a distributor issue would the time running be almost exactly the same every time or would it vary?

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Hey Steve, The battery is fully charged and brand new so supply voltage shouldn't be an issue. What blows me away is that it starts and runs for about 20 seconds very well and then just sputters and quits. I ran the gas out of the base of the Zenith and there was a continual good flow.I even...

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Hey John How did you determine the end result? Was there an amount the crank turned prior to rotor movement? Mine appears to move right away when I turn the and drive the crank in both directions???

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Thanks Bob I will give a try. Any way to test a condenser??

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

Mine is ok Tony but I am still confused with the amount of slop in the distributor. When turning it over by hand the rotor has 3/4 of an inch slop between fire spots in the cap as well as better than 1/16 radially which affects point gap accuracy.

    TEA 20 Timing Possibilities??

I have a Fergy that is acting up to say the least. It is running part time terribly backfiring, coughing, choking and then quits. The gen/regulator system is out of service so the only electrics are the starter and battery and ignition. I have sprayed gas into the back of the carb when...

    tea20 terrible running

Machine runs terribly when it starts and then just cuts out. I currently have the generator, regulator etc removed. All that is left in the system is the starter, ignition switch, coil and distributor with a brand new battery. :?:
