    The air cleaner is clean and the choke is all the way open. I will turn the idle screw out some and change two plug wires to copper wire. And see what happens. Dennis

    Helping my neighbor with his 601 workmaster. Has new points, distributer cap, rotor, plug wires, spark plugs ( Autolite 437) and coil. Compression- 120, 130 140 125, engine cold. Run engine at High idle turn the load screw in 1/4 turn and it starts to miss. Problem is that it turns the spark...

    Well the pump and separate hydraulic tank is installed. And it works because it loads the engine when the control valve handle is moved. Now, get the loader mounted and the hoses run to the control valve. Thank you for all the advice.

    Well it is October and I did buy a live hydraulic pump, not from the guy back in Feb. this setup has a separate tank and control valve mounted on the steering column. Not original but at this point it looks like a good idea. Now my concern is Pete’s comment about the pump disengagement...

    Gas tractor run on (dieseling)

    I would agree with everyone, but 60 years ago my Dad had a Case combine and it would diesel unless you would rev it up slightly. Worth a try.
