Planting Sunflowers and Millet with a 7000 Deere

I need to plant Sunflowers and Millet for a Landlord in some CRP. I have never seeded such a crop but do know my way around a 7000 as I use to assemble them back in the 70s when I worked for a dealer. Can anyone walk me through the settings/rates/population for these crops? Is there a way to...

    Hydraulics on my UTU

Can you help me size the motor? GPM of U pump? We currently run tractor engine RPM at about 1200 while unloading forage into the bagger, I would estimate run time being about the same as a fertilizer auger 5-7 minutes but less horse power required than a fertilizer auger. When chopping by...

    Hydraulics on my UTU

I am unloading into a silage bagger there for I pull ahead quit often as the convayor on the bagger is about as wide as the one on the forage box. Climbing in and out of a cab tractor and looking over my left shoulder, plus all the tractor controls are on the right console. And with a couple...

    Hydraulics on my UTU

Will the hydraulics on my UTU operate a orbital motor long enough to unload a 16-18' forage box? My thought is to attach a 540 pto stub to a hyd motor running off the U hydraulics since they don't have live PTO. I MUST find a better way to not half to climb in and out of a cab to unload forage...

4386 IH hydraulic block won't return to neutral

Thank you for the reply. How common of a problem is this? I don't farm many acres, tractor is in the shed unless useing it, could condensasion be the problem?

4386 IH hydraulic block won't return to neutral

My raise/lower levers on the 4386 will not return to the middle position even while thumping on them with the palm of my hand. Is there an easy fix while still mounted to the back of the cab? I read somewhere where someone had converted there's to possibly a Fasse valve(12v) which would be...

JD hydraulic cylinder used on MM U

Somewhere I thought I read where there is a hydraulic block that will allow MM hydraulics to use a normal hydraulic cylinder. If I'm correct would someone be more specific with a manufacture part number and possibly a retailer. Thanks.

4386 dash warning light and alarm

I put the volt meter on the battery while the engine was running and had a 14.98 consistant reading. Where is the ground for the dash?

4386 dash warning light and alarm

Would a bad ground cause the volt meter to drop to 12v? What and where is the sensor that this light is controlled by? When this compination of light, alarm and volt meter show a problem to look at the volt meter it is telling me that theres a large voltage draw or short, yet this is the best...

4386 dash warning light and alarm

What are the possible problems? Volt meter drops to 12v, the red trans oil light comes on and the alarm sounds. All three at the same time. Its an on/off issue, sometimes onoff somtimes on for a long time. I'm at a loss where to start looking. Can the dash be sent to Ag Express and be...

    I could just kick myself!

MB is where? Pardon my ignorance.

    I could just kick myself!

On another sight there was a U with the PTO clutch for sale, and I didn't buy it and now unhappy because it would have saved my sorry carcus lots of climbing on and off a newer tractor when chopping and bagging silage. Guess I never knew that MM had that option on the U, would have been so...

    Pertronix for my UTU

Well I see one problem with my poor running U and that is I never reversed the + and - wires on the coil when I changed the battery ground. I questioned the wiring when I went to replace the old coil because the top was cracked.

    Pertronix for my UTU

My grindermixer/yard dog UT is running poorly and would like to change over to Pertronix ignition in hopes to improve starting and performance. I have made it 12v negitive ground to keep it simple. Can someone with experence with this give the correct part numbers for coil, wires, ignition and...

    Had to pull a calf

Looks like a nice big calf. Had to have the vet out last week to help with a heifer having trouble, lost the calf and the heifer isn't doing very well. With this rain going though I went out to check mine and two have calved so far during the night, all four doing great. Happy Calving.
