    Massey Head

How long should I wait before I torque them again? The manual says 25-50 hours which is a big span of time. I've already ran it long enough to warm it up a couple of times so I thought about checking the torque now and maybe doing it again after I run it 25 or so hours. What do you guys think?

    Massey Head

I just got the head back on my massey and she fired back to life without a problem. Do any of you think I should re-torque the head bolts after I run it awhile?

    Perkins Head

Getting ready to put the head back on my Perkins this weekend. Everything has checked out and seems to have just blown a gasket. The question I have is whether or not to use copper spray sealer when I put everything back together. One of my friends is a certified diesel mechanic and he said...

    Removing a Perkins Head

No markings that I can find. The loader and backhoe have serial plates on it but nothing on the tractor itself.

    Removing a Perkins Head

The consensus from all my responses seems to be that it's a MF 40. Would the manuals you have cover it too? Working on it without a service manual has been a challenge!

    Removing a Perkins Head

I guess having so much snow allows for more time to surf the net and help people out like me!! I really appreciate all your help. I feel like I'm moving in the right direction now. I'm going to have the head checked this week and if all goes well I'll put it back together and try it again...

    Removing a Perkins Head

My backhoe has a 3 speed tranny with high and low making it six speeds. It also has the shuttle shift transmission with the shifter for it being over from the instrument panel to the left. The steering is like yours too having the cylinder driven steering instead of a draglink setup. So you...

    Removing a Perkins Head

Hey Jack, I actually have the backhoe posted on this website under the "Help Identify" section if you want to take a look at it. I pulled the head of the motor today and didn't see any obvious cracks in the block or cylinder head. The back cylinder did have antifreeze in it though as I...

    Removing a Perkins Head

I'd actually rather have the complete manual. My only obstacle if figuring out what exact model I have. Some repsonses I've gotten think it may be a 30 or 40B. I thought it may be a 202 but I really don't know. Thanks for you help!

    Removing a Perkins Head

I know my backhoe is a bit old so I hadn't contacted the Massey dealer yet. I'm also having trouble identifying my backhoe. I know it's an industrial model but dont know the exact one. I have it listed under "Help identify" so if anyone knows what it is I'd sure appreciate it too. I's...

    Removing a Perkins Head

I think the head gasket on my 3 cylinder 152 Perkins is blown and I need to remove the head to check it. So far I haven"t been able to find a repair manual for it. I"ve rebuilt lots of gas V8 motors but have never dealt with a diesel. From what I see it looks to be much the same. Can anyone...
