    Another Coil Issue?

OK. Call me stupid. I am used to it. What exactly is a OEM ballast resistor? I see it mentioned all the time. The resistor on mine is ceramic a couple of inches long with a spring inside. What does a OEM ballast resistor look like and where does it go? Thanks.

    Another Coil Issue?

Went to start my front mount 8N after it has been sitting a spell. It is a 12 volt system. No fire to plugs. Pulled coil and distributor. Cleaned and set points to .015. I did not check voltage before. Now. There is voltage drop at coil. When hot wire is connected./ When hot wire to coil is...

    No Oil Pressure!

It is a early 8N. No rebuild. Been a few weeks since I last started it up. Has always had good oil pressure. I pulled oil line because there was no pressure showing on gauge. I figured the tee fitting coming out of the block was a good place to check if oil was coming out. Thanks.

    No Oil Pressure!

Tee fitting at back of block. One line goes to pressure gauge . Other line goes to oil filter. I took line that goes to gauge off. Started engine. No oil at all came out of the tee fitting. So. Can I get any suggestions of where to go from here? What to look at? Maybe pressure relief valve...

Radiator: Buy New or Patch Old?

Took said radiator to shop. They said when they patched one leak another would spring up. Would not guarantee it would hold. Was tired of waiting since I took it in on Monday and this was Saturday. There is one more radiator shop in town. I am going to take it too them Monday. Thanks. Lee.

Radiator: Buy New or Patch Old?

The radiator on my 1948 8n sprang two leaks the other day. The leaks are about an inch a part and about the size of a pencil lead. I am weighing the options of either buying a new radiator or patching a 70 year radiator and hoping it does not spring any more leaks. A new radiator is really not...

Found a Nice 740 Case Tractor

Picked up a super nice 1967 Case Model 730 tractor Saturday. It is a model 740, Gas Standard. Looks like they only made 14 of them in '67, and only 45 of them all total. Only trouble with the tractor is the grill screens and I believe I have a nice set that will go right on them. If not, I...

    I Got The Last One.

I needed a steering box for my early model 8n. I contacted John Smith. He does not like the early design and will not rebuilding any more early 8n boxes. He had one left. When that one is gone that will be it. So. I have the honor of buying the last early 8n steering box from John Smith...

    Tractor won't Start

Repulled distributor. Yeah. It is in front. With black wire from multimeter to ground and red wire to points. 12 volts. Put red wire to ground. 12 volts. Open points. Down to zero volts. Went ahead and did the paper trick. Got her going even with point gap at .022". Hope that was all it was...
