Ok .. I found another 72-78 vintage bird bath hood for this project. A nice one. I've been looking for one ever since the blaster guy screwed up the first one I had by lying to me about the product he was gonna use for the job and used plain old black beauty coal slag instead of water based...- Don B.

Farm King 16 hp carb kit
Yup. Briggs made that engine for alot of equipment makers not just MTD. They're not bad to rebuild either. Don't get a China copycat carb!!!- Don B.

Id still put the old carb on. Even if I had to rebuild it first. Even if the passages inside are completely blocked it should have fired in gas or starting fluid sprayed in the inlet side. Putting the Chinese wannabe carb on didn't fix your machine.- Don B.

truck cap window lifts
I'm wanting to retrofit that type of lift to the front outside window shade on the front of my 2003 jayco camper but don't know how to figure out the exact right ones to get. It has a 2 PC slider type deal now that the rivets pulled out of the frame, on. Now it's "go find a stick" and break it...- Don B.

Powdercoating anyone?
Painting I always use a primer. Powdercoating I've come to understand that it's not always necessary to powder prime. The primer on the frame and the rear end housing is listed as such for the top coat that I have used there but that primer can also be the top coat. Both are 2 part...- Don B.

And was simply hoping that someone could take care of that and have the body ready by the time I got that all cleaned up and everything rebuilt for it ... We ended up getting a newer (2016) truck that is basically the wife's now as I needed something that would handle our camper. THE job this truck is being built up for. And my version of "mechanically K.I.S.S" is a good old school 4 barrel CARBURETOR. Fark computers.. I would rather tune with a screwdriver a distributor wrench a timing light and a vacuum gauge than a scanner.- Don B.

Yup it's been considered. I have a son that has 2 Cummins trucks trying to convince me to go that way. But I have a 360 magnum in the machine shop (actually a pair of those) for this truck. Started out as a "use what I have laying around" build and even at that and refurbishing what I have...- Don B.

Powdercoating anyone?
I don't remember if the primer I got was from them or from powder buy the pound. I could look and see. But i do remember that whichever one had 2 choices and I got the epoxy one. I'd done a fair amount of parts "directly to metal" without primer but I've primered everything else I've done since...- Don B.
