Powdercoating anyone?
There's problems with every option. I've had paint fail too. There's more different types of paint than powder, and I'm not talking colors. And there's "cheap" paint and expensive paint. I've had them all hold up and all have failed in some way. Lacquer, enamel, urethane, base/clear, epoxy...- Don B.

In the market for an ultrasonic cleaner
I've been thru a few. One was junk out of the box. Many on feebay are the exact same units as each other though the prices vary greatly. I have (I think) it's a 6L (why oh why does everything have to be rated in metric) I can do a 2 bbl car carb but not a 4 bbl. I haven't used mine lately but... -

I do plan on coating some of the wheels on my garden tractors.... And on my truck project for the prices I'm seeing on parts both new and used i'm way ahead to take the time to clean and (either) paint or PC (depending on what the part is) vs just buying replacements.... I'm definitely...- Don B.

Powdercoating anyone?
Well update on the powdercoating.... The $40 oven I got from CL still working somewhat. It's a free standing one with a stove top. I removed and scrapped the coils. It works ok for hanging parts from the racks with hooks made from cut up coat hangers. But if I have to use the racks like you...- Don B.

Step to get in pickup truck
I could have used something like that earlier this week. We FINALLY got the guys to start on my roof replacement from the hail storm in March. (A job they promised would be done by July 8th)! Another update, I found a deal on a stainless steel brake line kit and fuel line kit from marketplace where the seller bailed on his truck due to what he says was too much rust. Only problem is the particular company that he used only has line kits for short bed trucks like mine for some...- Don B.

A little progress... I found a 30 gallon tank with an actual good sending unit, as I have the original tank with sending unit that's Swiss cheese.... Won't draw fuel very well like that. I've seen the run of aftermarket sending units my son has had between 2 trucks and 2 different 72 fury...- Don B.

Not a tractor but a Mitsubishi engine q

Hopefully enough. I glass bead everything. When I did the calipers I took them completely apart and put old used pistons in for "plugs" and taped them in so to keep powder out of the seal groove. If I don't get to coat something right away after blasting sometimes I have to put the part(s)...- Don B.

Figures I just found 1 more "half of a door hinge" that I missed when I redid those "wrong color" ones. I also found another oven I might go for if it's still available in a couple of days it's bigger and a double oven besides I'm not yet ready to commit to a dedicated *purpose built " PC...- Don B.

I thought e coat was pretty much "powdercoating" because of the electric charge for getting the powder to stick before it has a chance to be melted/ baked on- Don B.

I have 1 more part I'd like to redo, a gas tank for a Kohler generator that I finally found a replacement for.... It had a plastic tank cap on it that I left in place as a "plug" to keep powder out. It didn't take 400* very well, and melted, I had a molten gas cap on fire in the bottom of the...- Don B.
