Thinking about building a truck from basically scratch

Been put on back burner by both body shop and engine machine shop. Went by the machine shop that told me he could take care of me after 7/1 last Friday and now he's saying late fall I'm looking for another Today I painted my garage doors with my HVLP gun and industrial Sherwin Williams paint...

With IHC's Iron Guard paint gone........

My experience was (actually my son's) was on a cub original that he redid in high school. I took it and paid to have it sandblasted then straight back to the career center. He was in metal working class there and got the auto body shop teacher to personally spray it with iron guard, yellow and...

    Doug tallman

I don't know if he was a member here but he was known as "Doug T" on a couple of other forums I frequent such as smokstak, GT talk and tractor fanatics. As well as having been a moderator on the last 2 I mentioned. Passed away May 19th. He was from ohio. He had lots of seldom seen old...

Thinking about building a truck from basically scratch

Well tomorrow I get my new (1ea) USA made and Canadian made rotors. Found on eBay in NY "pickup only" Luckily I live between Mondays and Tuesdays stops on this year's power tour A guy on another forum who's coming in for the power tour posted an offer to pick up parts to bring them along the...

    Sherwin Williams acrylon

Anyone shoot this stuff? It's a water based 2 part polyurethane. I've never dealt with water based anything besides the old prang watercolors in grade school or latex house paint. I'm wanting to paint my overhead garage doors as I am wanting to make the 20 yo ones match my 2 yo ones. Same...

    Shop lighting

I don't replace many bulbs either with old fashioned t12s. I take advantage of the cheap/ free ones at garage sales. Get a few duds but most work at least for a while. I've taken down a few and tossed them when the ballasts have died, which hasn't been that many either. I've had my 30x36 garage...

    Shop lighting

Are those just the bulbs? I have some led bulbs here. So maybe I don't have to be replacing the ballasts that are shot then if I use those? I just threw away 4 2bulb 4 ft fixtures last week. I went thru my stash again and swapped bulbs around, those that didn't work for tossed. Those that did...

Thinking about building a truck from basically scratch

Slow progress. Dealing with insurance on the house hail damage. In their ultimate wisdom state fraud insurance felt a need to put the bank I pay the mortgage to, as first name on the check for the hail damage. All they want is to run interference. I had to sign a paper saying "intent to...

    Shop lighting

I thought T8 was the newer florescent tech. And that was what everyone was switching to from t12 which is what I still have. I have 4ft t12 fixtures in my garage still. I bought a shopping cart fill of cheap 4 ft fixtures at lowes 20 years ago. Of 20 fixtures I returned 14 of them within 3...

    Powdercoating anyone?

If you look at that RAL color system they show paint as small as the "touch up" to gallons to match to any given color. That RAL system I think was based in Europe.
