    pto jumps out of gear

    I have very reliable 8n but recently while brush hogging the pto jumped out of gear several times, I have recently replaced the seal around the pto and every thing looked fine at that time......any ideas where to look?

    I check it running with the piston extended, better to be a little over as it will go out the breather, if you run them dry they can be a pain. another way to check for leaks (internal leaks) is to fill the cylinder (fully extend it ) take the weight off with a jack and plug the hoses with 1/2...

    The breather cap is just to keep water out and purge air from the system sounds more like you have a small hydraulic leak either in the cylinder or in the control valve itself. The best way to check is with a pressure gage. I had the same problem with mine

    cub idle jet

    I started to rebuild the carb in my newly aquired 49 cub and I noticed that the idle jet is missing, have gone to the usual suspects for parts but have not found that item or even a kit with that item, any ideas of who would carry such a part.
