    Gene Bender/Janicholson - Super A Engine Number

I took another look around. I discovered an obscured R on the screw tag below the oil filter. The complete ID # on this tag is 6 16 R. As per Janicholson's year code list, an R means 1948. It looks like the engine is original. I still don't know why there would be no letters preceding the...

    jd 620

jd 620 always starts with no choke. Today I went to start it and had to choke it. It ran for 10-15 second and died. It will start back up and do the same thing after it sets a minute or so. Maybe a carb problem? The tank has plenty of gas in it. Any thoughts?

    8n plow

Nice set-up. I have the same except a 6' front blade. One thing I do is cut a 1/4" section out of a 2" schedule 40 PVC and slide it over the cutting edge. It prevents the edge from catching the soft gravel and sod. Once the ground freezes the pipe comes off. ( or crackes and falls off )...

    John Deere M "prior problems

I want to take time to thank EVERYONE for their help in diagnosing my starting and carb id problems. I do have it running now. I went through all the ignition tests cleaned all contacts and verified each test all checked correctly. Since the carb was leaking I tapped the carb all over and I...

    Monroe ez ride

easured mine and it's 9" in diameter with a 1/2" edge. It's about 1/16" thick steel. Also has a 4" long flat spot so you can move your position control lever. Hope this helps. Don

    Snow Plow Edge

I do the same as Wetwilly, except I use the grey 2" electrical conduit pipe on a 6' front mount blade. White PVC seems to be a bit brittle in the cold weather. Works great. Once the ground is frozen it comes off.
