    Old man tire changing aid

a round nose #2 shovel works good too, but the body doesn't twist and turn like it used to. On hay wagon that works better with 2 people. I didn't realize that there were so many commercial tools available to do what I am trying to do.

    Old man tire changing aid

Hay wagons are especially hard to change cause to rack is over the tire. In days gone by I would just sit down , put the tire between my knees , scoot in and lift the tire in place with my legs and put the bolts in. Body no longer works like that. So I made up this little tool. Started with a...

My iron pile came to the rescue again.

How can you farm with out one. People look at my pile and call it scrap iron. Nooo , its raw material for the next repair or project . Like one fellow has on his posts, think he's on new ag talk. "design is influenced by inventory"

    What happened to spring?

I was stationed at north island naval air station in 70, 71. We lived in san ysidro down by the mex border. Tried to find our house on google maps, but like you I think a freeway goes through where it was.

    What happened to spring?

NW wis. weird winter. Temp swings of 40 to 50 degrees from day to day. Was -25 a few days ago. Warmer now. But as I sit at my computer at 9 pm Feb 7th i have a mosquito buzzing around my head. People try to justify the cold weather by saying "haven't seen a mosquito in awhile". I can't say...

    Todays funny

If you do throw something away even if it hasn't been touched in 30 years, I can pretty much guarantee that within 2-3 weeks you will be looking for it cause its just what you need now.

    Here comes the cavalry .

I have a factory made wood fired tank heater that does the same thing. Not as big but made out of cast iron. have never used it. Don't remember if I got it an auction or if it was my dads. Saw one just like it in an antique store.. i think it would be difficult to maintain a fire very long due...

Driving water well pipe with a PTO or SIDE PULLEY

I drove a couple of wells like that several years ago. Think I fasted a 14" rim to the belt pulley of a 77 oliver. and just ran it at an idle. Instead of a tripod we fastened a pulley to a loader at near max heighth. Worked quite well. here we only have to auger down about 12' to 14' and...

5th Wheel running gear for hay wagon

if they are cheap enough, you had better grab them. Even if you don't put racks on them. never can tell what you might dream up to use them for in the future.

    shaky oliver

My 1900 did that. Chain and sprocket looked good, wasn't showing much wear. New chain and sprockets fixed the problem.

Trouble Hooking a SkidSteer Quick Hitch

I'm old too and have the same problem. I have thought about welding "wings" on each side of the attachment point of the attachment to sort of guide the hooks into place. haven't actually done this so don't know if it will work, but thought I would toss the idea out there. Another solution...

    New Idea 750 crusher bearing

thanks for your extensive reply .lady at local Oreilly's who is about as knowledgeable as any parts person ordered one that we thought would fit, but it came with the wider outer race and just haven't got back to her yet. Ordering bearings should be straight forward, generally a generic one...
