    I've tried inserting my new drive shaft into the pulley; it goes in, but not very far - maybe 3/4", whereas the old one goes in about twice that. Is there a preferred way to shave a little off the diameter of the lands or grooves to get in farther? I'm going to put a vernier caliper on the old...

    Drove it out from the other side with a punch. BTW, I put the tube part of the hanging bracket into the hole, and it is stuck fast in there! Used a sledge to get it in. I'm gonna hit it in a few spots with a stick weld, but even without that, I don't think it's going anywhere.

    I'm (still) a little confused. My Loader parts list shows a drive shaft, hub and pulley, but my 8N parts list shows there's already a pulley on there. Do I have to replace the stock pulley? And I'm assuming the pulley replaces 6312, and the drive shaft goes into 6319 in the attached pic. Zat...

    I don't know what it is, but I revisited my manual (should have done that before posting), and it says to use Amoco EP #2 Amolith grease, and fill the box at least 2/3 full. Apparently, that particular grease is obsolete, but I can substitute any lithium-based EP2 grease. Maybe that's what...

    I wondered about it being grease instead of oil. I can't see the seals - or anything else, for that matter - but will look. Are they pretty standard things, so I'll be able to replace them? And thanks!

    When I mow with my Haban 60" finish mower, I get grease coming out the top of the gear box. It looks like the fill bolt has a weep hole in it. Today, I took the lid off the box , and it was filled to the top with grease. Is this excessive, normal, okay, harmful?

    Also, anybody know what this bolt is for? I'm thinking tensioner, but would like to know for sure. The left side is split, with like a 1-1/2" cap butted against a regular nut.
