I am busy restoring the family Ferguson TEA 20-85 purchased new in 1953. There was once a light chain with an oval tag which fastened to the lift handle stop and then to the 3 point lower lift arm. It was to remind the operator not to lift the system when the PTO was in use. Can anyone tell me...- dpollo

stock engine in '50 chevy 3600
dan and dave are correct, a 216 has a metal cover which extends from just above the camshaft up to above the spark plugs and it must be removed or at least loosened before the head will come off The 235 cover does not extend up to the head, but stops just below it. Only a very few 235s...- dpollo

12 volt conversion
check the action at the points as roadrunner suggested. It is possible the condenser was on its way out and the higher voltage killed it. Without a functioning condenser, you will have the normal current values at rest, but there will be no spark at the plugs.- dpollo

TEA engine bearings
I have a "53 Ferguson TEA which uses the Standard Motor Company's wet sleeve engine. It looks like the bearings and other service parts are the same as the Triumph TR3. Can anyone confirm if this is so ?- dpollo

Ferguson TEA engine
I have a Ferguson TEA with the Standard Wet sleeve engine.(used in Vanguard and Triumph) It appears to use the same crankshaft bearings and some other service parts as the Triumph TR3. Does anyone know if this is so?- dpollo
