MF35 gas engine not running right. Help please!

OK, I know the carb is really clean, soaked it in carb cleaner, acetone, and vinegar. Cleaned all the passages with pipe cleaners, and needles in the passages to small for the pipe cleaners. I have good flow of gas thru the needle valve, but still not able to get the mixture rich enough for the...

I put some Accel copper core wires on it, still didn't help it. Guess I'll start over from the beginning and made sure I did not miss anything. Thanks everybody for your input. Chad

MF35 gas engine not running right. Help please!

Maxwell99, I soaked the carb over night and got it squeaky clean. The tractor is running better, but still not back to the way it was before all this started. Think I'm going to replace the plug wires tomorrow since that's the only thing I haven't done recently.

MF35 gas engine not running right. Help please!

Tony, I replaced the air cleaner element and oil in January. I'm like you, I find the "sweet spot" when tuning something. I just set everything to factory specs for a starting point, then fine tune from there. Thanks for your response, Chad

RKH, Yes, the gas cap is venting. It even does it without the gas cap on. Thank you for your reply.

MF35 gas engine not running right. Help please!

Hello All, I have a 1960 MF35 with a Continental Z134 engine. About 3 weeks ago it started spitting and sputtering and not wanting to take gas unless the choke was 1/2 set, then it would run great. Since then I have done the following and it hasn't helped a bit. 1. Thoroughly cleaned and...

    MF35 Deluxe Tach and cable

Thanks Jason, I had talked to an AGCO dealer earlier today and he searched by serial# and was able to provide the oem part # for me to cross reference. Thanks for the heads up on the website, I'm sure that will come in handy. Chad

    MF35 Deluxe Tach and cable

I seen the cable listed with the different sized ends, but I think that wouldn't be long enough, I'll go out to the garage this evening when I get home and use a tape measure and see if I can find a different way of routing to make a shorter cable work. Thanks for your replies guys, Chad

    MF35 Deluxe Tach and cable

I was trying to avoid having to do that since it is a brand new tach that I just paid $53 for. The only oem one I found is $120 with shipping.

    MF35 Deluxe Tach and cable

Hey Guys, I have a MF35 Deluxe with a continental Z134 gas engine. I ordered a new Tach and Tach cable from this site and now can't get it to hook together. The Tach was part# S.61467 and cable # 506331M91. The cable is the right length and screws into the generator just fine, the problem is the...

    Tractor shuts down

I just had the exact same problem. The mounting screws for the points wore out in mine and the points closed a little. The tractor would start and run fine. I would mow for about 20-30 minutes and would start shutting down. I thought it was the coil also, ran some ohm tests and the coil and...
