    changed my '54 30 to 6 volt electronic and it is awesome. cost a couple hours and about $150. Starts easy and quickly, battery lasts longer, longevity is 1.5 yrs so far. I have a '53 with points, having a race to the finish!!!

    Starter trouble to30

    Ran into similar problems with a couple of mine. Went through every protocol, bench test, the whole 9 yards. Same thing. Wound up replacing them. BE CAREFUL when buying. Had good luck with the ones from YT and the ones made by Atlantic. Sometimes you may have to change the nose cone to get it...

    Starter Issue

    Believe it or not, Three bad starters. One worked for 6 months, two bad right out of the box. All came from ebay from reliable tractorparts. Got this one from yesterdays Tractor. Hooked it up and working perfectly. How aggravating was this making me go over the whole system just to find out...

    Starter Issue

    Checked things out further and found Positive, ground wire, getting hot top to bottom. Negative a little warm by battery terminal. Starter will click and give about a half spin groan. Bad Ground? Bad Cable? Cleaned everything off.
