Thanks Bern - I just finished checking it . The top terminal is a steady light as you described and the bottom terminal is flashing a little less than 1 sec intervals. So I assume it must be OK? While I had it loose I did fix (somewhat) my gen light that is intermittent - agravating it lights... -

Aha - while weeding the garden this AM, I let the tractor run for a while and then took a reading. The gauge was in the normal range. I took the reading (emissity at .61) at the hose connections to the radiator - Top hose connection - 183° Bottom hose connection - 168° Top of radiator - 191°... -

I don't know what to think? I stopped with the gauge on the edge of hot. I changed the emissity to .86 for rubber. With tractor running my readings were: Top hose - 186° Bottom hose - 182° Top of radiator - 216° (I left the emissity at .86 not sure what to put it for radiator?) So it seems... -

I can change the emissity - it is set at 0.95 now (which is default). I am going to try again this afternoon with the engine running and see what I get. I am going to see if there is a difference between the top and bottom hoses this evening with the tractor running. -

An update - I got a temp gun from HFT and ran the tractor this evening for a little while as it was right at the edge of the "hot" indicator (about an hour) . Left it running took these readings...... Top Radiator hose 199°, Bottom Radiator hose 200°, Top of radiator (metal part) 230°. I'll... -

My fuel gauge is a stick to see how much diesel I have before going to the pasture 😁 I am amazed how little it uses. When the gauge gets about a needles width of the hot range I usually stop - it doesn't seem unusually hot or smell and the water level stays just above the fins of the radiator.
