    Leyland 154 Diesel Ignition Switch

    tractordata.com has the 154 Leyland listed, and it was produced in 1984 according to them. You may try Ebay for the ignition switch, they may not have one for a "Leyland" but you can find one that may work for you with a little change.

    I would imagine because there is no load (resistance) with noting attached to the PTO this is all I can think of.

    This is interesting this tractor was equipped with a loader. I can tell by the 2 steel reinforcement plates on each side of the tractor, but there are no remotes, but they could have been removed. I hate to say it but I think my mechanic who I have used for years may have fouled up, why else...

    It is a single clutch , and yes it will shift into gear with clutch pedal depressed. However, attempting to engage PTO lever will result in grinding and will not engage, Without anything hooked to the PTO it will engage just fine.

    Mechanic replaced a clutch/pressure plate on recently purchased 1020 John Deere, the clutch is single stage, when a bush hog is attached and you attempt to engage the grinding begins which will not allow engagement of the bush hog.
