    Slow to build RPM?

    I’m 99% certain I found the issue. The fuel shut off never was creeping closed. I installed a spring to hold it open and the issue seems to have disappeared.

    Everything checks out. The bleeder screw shoots fuel out roughly 2 feet at start up. The tank is clean and the pet cock screen is clean. The cap seems to vent like it’s supposed to.     Thank you for this information. I will do all of this and see where that gets me. The pump and injectors were rebuilt and tested by a Bosch dealer in St. Louis as I was no where near comfortable enough to tackle that myself.

    This was also brand new 17 hours ago when I had the rank cleaned. I’ll pull it and see if there is debris on the screen.

    It doesn’t smoke at all when at normal RPM. At idle it’s just barely anything at all and it’s a light smoke but clears up when the idle is brought up just a smidge. The pump was just rebuilt along with the injector.

    I will change the filter when I get time and make sure to look at the seal to ensure it is installed properly. I will update when I do that.

    I am currently running a carquest filter on it now. I have a napa gold filter as a spare. Should I go with a different brand then?

    Thats kind of what I was thinking too. I would have noticed it bogging down due to starvation and that didnt happen.

    I checked the tank and there is some sediment in there but I can't see it being enough to choke off the fuel. I will change the fuel filter again and see if that fixes anything.
