John Deere 630LP transmission fluid capacity

I recently acquired a 630LP that's been outside for a LONG time. Wanted to drain all of the old fluids (and accumulated water). Don't have a manual yet. Was curious what the capacity of the transmission/differential is. Want to make sure I have enough buckets to catch it all. Thanks in advance.

Starter bracket for 70D conversion from Pony Motor

Sorry for the repost, think my original got loaded into a response on a completely different topic. Can someone tell me if a styled G starter and bracket would fit a JD 70D if converting to an electric start from pony motor? I have access to a junked G if it would work, but not sure if they...

Looking for starter bracket for 70D electric start conversio

Can someone tell me if a styled G starter and bracket would fit a JD 70D if converting to an electric start from pony motor? I have access to a junked G if it would work, but not sure if they compatible. I realize the G is a gas engine of a completely different CUI from the 70 diesel, but...

    560 Gas Head Gasket

I can't remember the mfg of the head gasket used on my 560. I didn't do anything on mine other than clean both surfaces and checked the head for flatness. I reassembled and torqued per the service manual. When I first started it, it bubbled slightly in a couple of spots, but after running it...

    730 Deisel elect problem

You might try isolating your gen light from the dash. It sounds like it is grounding to the dash. I had to wrap some sand paper around my gen light housing when I installed a new one into the dash on my 730D. Otherwise, it would stay on all the time.

Ignition Switch smoking at the resistor

I was able to tinker a little yesterday on the 70. I turned the switch on and immediately proceeded to fire up the pony and got her running and all seemed to be well. With the engine running, the resistor never really got hot. Guess that is normal for the resistor to heat up with the points...

Ignition Switch smoking at the resistor

Buckeye al, I have one suspicion that I do need to check based on your comment. The wire than runs from the ignition switch down to the cranking engine is new. The old one was in rough shape with lots of "naked spots". The wire that then runs from the post on the cranking engine starter...

Ignition Switch smoking at the resistor

The first time I started the pony over, I noticed smoke coming from under the dash. The hood was off and I could see smoke and smell something burning. Naturally, that alarmed me given the fact this thing has sat in a barn for 25 years idle and not knowing the condition of the wiring, etc. I...

Ignition Switch smoking at the resistor

Just got a 70D with the pony motor on 6V. It hasn't ran in about 25 years, but both motors are now running. Whoo-hoo! First time trying to start the pony, I turned the switch to the "on" position prior to cranking the pony and the little resistor on the back of the old switch would smoke...

    520 Steering Pedestal

I did not realize that until Tyler-MO referred to the site in his post. I went to the website and voila! My parts manual has some pretty lite printed pages in some sections, especially the steering section. When I went back to the dealer the 2nd time, he brought out his old paper copy but his...

    520 Steering Pedestal

Ok, so that's my fault. Sorry for the scare. The part manual I have is lacking for dark enough font on some of the pages. I had to pretty much come up with the leading digit and I guessed wrong. In retrospect, should have asked the dealer to find the part in his system. He would have...

Hardner with John deere Classic green

I used JD Classic green with the hardner from Tractor Supply. I think it was called Majic. It worked fine and looks nice.
