    JD 316

    Thanks RLA! That gives me a starting point. When I replaced the filter the ends on the fuel line were getting a little rough. Maybe it is the fuel line.

    I have a JD 316 with a 18H Onan engine. While mowing it loses power and then picks back up. It does this repeatedly. I changed fuel filter a couple of weeks ago, air filter is good. Any idea if this would be a carb problem or electrical?

    Ford NAA

    Checked the fuel flow and it was good so I thought what the heck what's a 1/8" turn on the main I can always turn it back. Brush hoged for 1 1/2hrs. it did show a little surge one time when I was finishing up but much better. Thanks!

    Thanks soundguy. No I haven't checked the advance mechanism. Not sure where to start with that. I will check the fuel flow before I mess with the carb.

    I have a 1953 Ford NAA. When I try to accelerate when it is under a load the engine surges (pulses) for a few seconds and then seems to smooth out. I am thinking carburetor adjustment but not sure.

    JD 316 Battery light

    I have a JD 316, 18HP Onan. Battery is a few years old but still starts the tractor, it seems a little weak. The battery light is coming on while the tractor is running and then goes off for a while before coming back on. Should I replace the battery or where should I start?
