    I just bought the tractor. I bought it knowing it had some carb problems. The previous owner didn’t use it much and said it started after siting for awhile. It only has a sediment bowl. I’ll check it for leaks.

    Farmall M 12v or 6v

    Thanks everyone for there help. I found a used battery box at a salvage yard and purchased a lid for it online. I purchased a group 26 12v battery to fit in the box. Also found out my starter was broke so I had it rebuilt at my local Napa and had the internal parts changed to 12v. Good to go now!

    Hi I just bought a 1950 Farmall M and it has an old 12v truck battery that needs replaced. I’m not sure if it’s been converted to 12v or if it’s 6v. How do I tell? The tag on the starter is beat up so I can’t read it. Thanks
