When did Deere put tires on the GP

It’s possible to find the date stampings on tractor rim and that gives you an idea of when the wheels were produced. Posting pictures might also allow me to date the wheels based on hub castings. Are they cutdowns or round spokes?

When did Deere put tires on the GP

Rubber tires were commercially available from Firestone and Goodyear by the late summer/early fall of 1932. That is to say they were beyond the testing stage and were being advertised. The GP Series tractors were some of the first to be tested and have wheels developed for the new rubber...

    John Deere B front wheels

Have you had any luck find rims for your centers?

    John Deere B front wheels

You're going to have a tough time finding those rims in the correct size for the B. All of the other tractors that used this wheel setup had 16" rims. I'm thinking about making some of these rims new but I need to get measurements for the angle brackets on the B version.

    John Deere B front wheels

Here's a pic of the Farmall F-20 variation of the same wheels you have. The original rims have 4 angle iron brackets attached to them with countersunk rivets. Your "B" wheels used 3.00 X 15" rims. You can also see in this pic how the rims were reversed making them variable tread with two...

    John Deere B front wheels

I can post pics of what the rims should look like. They have pieces of angle iron attached to them. This type of wheel was also made by F&H for several other tractor models.

    John Deere B front wheels

Yes they are very rare for a B. They are variable tread fronts and should have the casting number W276A. Good find!

Can you find a casting number on the wheel? There should be one in the flat face of the hub somewhere.

    Deere 670 Rake 435 Baler

Hi all, Having a few minor issues with one of our rakes and our baler, hoping the experts here can help out: Rake: We bought a Deere 670 rake last year, just got a few bearings replaced and am setting up to use it now. Is the gearbox on the left side supposed to take and lubricant? it seems...

Stripped the forms up at the saphouse.

The forms held great and the mono pour of wall and upper deck where storage tanks set came out great. The boxed out section is where the drain pipes from the storage tanks come out. The 4" step up in the wall compensats for height diff in the two storage tanks. One more small pour around the...

    FH hc119

Charlie This is Chris Adolphs. I talked to Gene this afternoon and an HC119 hub is associated with an Allis WC steel wheel. The bolt pattern is slightly different than the Gp axle but usually the holes are worn a bit and the wheel will fit right on. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hook bolts for F&H wheel weights

I found Norman Jackson's contact information on the club website but I'm not sure if it's current. I've sent multiple emails and left two messages on the phone number a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Do you know if his contact info is up to date? Thanks
