    Thanks guys. These tires are about 10 to 12 years old. They are just leaking around the aluminum rims and I put about 200 miles on them the past few months with them loaded to there limit. I csn't believe they didn't blow but I think I will just buy new tires for next season.

    Farmall C-281 LP Head

    I was told the same thing. The new heads are thicker and should hold up better.

    1566 road gear

    Tractor data shows top speed on a 1466 at 20.3 mph with 18.4 x 38s. So I would think a 1566 should be about the same if not a little faster.

    Farmall M weight

    I have a 1952 Super M that we use for farming and I put on weight brackets and wheelie bars and pull it a few times a year. It has the pto and the lift still in it and cast wheels and it gets down to 5000#. If I used lighter pulling parts I could get it even lower.

    pulling with an M at 4000

    It is not as hard to get there as you might think. I pull 4200 with my M and it will make it to 4000 with I lite driver and I still have room to shed more weight.

    You could probably get around 80hp with out stroking it but its well worth the $$$ to stroke it and get the extra torque.

    If you need something hotter that a 3116 then an autolite 388 will work.

    Some of the 460's had the 2 3/4 axles the same as the 560. You need to know with your has.

    rear tire set narrow or wide?

    The only advantage the wide setting would give you is if you are wider than the pan on the sled. Then the pan don't drag the dirt the tires dig up. Thats how I run mine and about 10 inches of each of my tires are on the outside of the pan.

    Farmall m idea

    I have been wanting to do the same thing. To answer the question of why, I would like to have the slower gears of an M with a TA to split them. I pull a stock class at 3.5mph and it would give me more gears to choose from.

    Call Gary Baker or Paul Marlatt. You can crank a 700ci when its hat with theirs.

    Spend the money to get a set from CAP Bros. Its worth every penny.
