    4020 diesel injector pump timing

    Couple things, is there a bunch of play in the gears driving the pump. The cam gear and or oil pump gear can get very worn out causing timing issues. Second if the pump hasn't had a seal kit installed, the governor ring could be shot, also causing timing trouble.

    400 Gas Compression Test

    Make sure when you do the compression test the throttle is wide open. The 400 is a great tractor but you will be under powered even in the lightest class, unless you are stone boat pulling, or pulling in a very slow speed limit class.

    A 5020 does have a synchronized transmission, I've put synchros in them. A later 531 with the p pump or 619 will bolt in but the problems start from there. The front of that engine poses some problems, the balancer is much larger, water pump is different as well as the radiator. Luckily I...

    4020 3pt problem

    I would bet you have the cam on the wrong side of the roller or possibly off to the side. The curved part of the cam goes in front of the roller. You can get the roller to stick down farther for easier installation by moving the draft control setting. I made this mistake on a 4440 the first time...

    Had solar mig welder never an issue. Bought a Miller to replace it and sold it. Big mistake, Miller has been POS from the get go.
