Hi Bern, Bob57, and JoeM(GA). Thanks! Here is the link after beating it in to submission and welding angle on two sides. Toe in very easy to adjust after cleaning out the threads and a touch of fresh grease. Painted it Ford blue after installation. A touch of red spray paint on the end that has...

    1710

The retrofit was not available at my local New Holland dealer. I figure it took 30 years for mine to start leaking with out the hose retrofit. Got all new o-rings, cleaned the whole mess up, and carefully aligned the valve and mounting. No leaks now for 6 months. The old o-rings all had a flat...

    Ford 1710 Differential Lock

Hi Flembo, We have had our 1710 for 20 years. As we almost always have the tractor in 4 wheel drive, the lock never gets used. However, the pedal is a bit "weak", as in its travel is only about 2 inches till it hits bottom. Springs back up, just not very snappy. Like yours, nothing seems...

    Morning commute in Camarillo, California

This is the traffic I have to navigate on my way to work. Lots of strawberries, various vegetables, and supposedly the peppers that make up Sriracha hot sauce. The trailer thingy is used to transport implements between fields.

Ford 1710 Steering Dampener and brackets

Hi Flembo, That is great information. I read in several places that the shock usually got pinched, bent, or knocked due to the exposed location. I will go out this weekend and look between the front right tire rim and the output drive hub to see if there is any marks. I bet it the whole thing...

Ford 1710 Steering Dampener and brackets

Hi All Got a Ford 1710 with 4 wheel drive. It has a bracket for the steering dampener mounted in the middle of the front axle (top picture). From the NewHolland parts breakdown, there should be a bracket on the right hand side at the wheel (bottom picture, dusty from discing). Am I missing...

Ford 770A loader - What is this extra tube?

Hi Guys, thanks for this. I have the 770A loader manual, it did not show the same picture. Since my valve block is on the tractor, I can now figure out some other use for the tube.

Ford 1710 fuses not connecting, lights and gauges dropping

Hi Guys, Thanks for all the ideas. Fuses are not blowing, just not connecting well enough for the lights and gauges to work. Clips seem snug. I just push the fuse back and forth a few times, things start working again. Don't know if it is the fine dust creeping in, or oxidation. Got them...
