ORC Over Running Clutch PTO Rollpin Size

I picked up a few 3/8 and 5/16, it definately is the 5/16, but 2-1/2 is too long for the ORC i have. Shaved it down to about 2 even and got it together. Cut about an hour and then some before the rain. Thanks for the input.

ORC Over Running Clutch PTO Rollpin Size

Thanks Jeff, Im eating lunch myself right now. I dont have a problem with diameter, but rather overall length. Can never find one that lets the ORC spin yet be long enough without modifying.

ORC Over Running Clutch PTO Rollpin Size

Had things going smooth, but got a call this evening that the ORC came off during use with a finish mower. Providing the usual has happened, (rollpin sheared off inside clutch), Ill have to replace that and hope the ORC is okay. Ive done it before, but I always have to shave a store bought pin...

    Coils keep cracking?

Jerry, if youre reading this, we finished last season just fine. Put it away in the garage under cover for the first time in a while I think. The battery was old and wouldnt take take a charge, threw in a new one, checked fluids, cleaned sediment bowl and added some fresh fuel. Before parking it...

    Cracked coil, why?

Checked things out today with the analog meter, everything is checking out ok. I think Ill brushog a bit with it, and check temps and voltages every now and then. If I find anything, Ill post just to close this case. Thanks again.

    Cracked coil, why?

As for carbon arc, no Im sure its a crack, the second one that cracked I actually could see the oil leaking from it. Good idea though. Dave, thanks for the pic. I know very well what the difference is between analog/digital, but Im sure some dont. Strange enough about the pic of the Simpson...

Thanks again guys, cant believe I overlooked that one, guess only thing on my mind was getting her going. Cracked coil, why?

Today, I actually took a day off work to try and figure this out. I stopped at Napa, got the 12 volt coil that is stamped "For use without external resistor", so that problem is solved. It fired right up. So I checked the voltage at the battery to check the alternator, and it is driving my meter...

    Cracked coil, why?

Thanks Bob, I guess it is possible that the first coil was not the right one either. After I get a new one, I gotta check the alt output, I know the voltage regs in those do go bad.

    Coils keep cracking?

Thanks for replies. Polarity is correct on the coil. 440roadrunner, i agree and thought the same if it was juicing the coil too much why hasnt the battery done the same, unless its just enough for the coil, and not enough for the battery. Im pretty sure there is no resistor, but shouldnt need...

    Cracked coil, why?

Thanks for the replies guys, the coil that was on it had no markings but it ran fine for a year or two with it. But just last week i found the points were burned up like they had been stuck, and they werent touching center to center, kinda offset so the fixed point was half gone. I replaced...

    Coils keep cracking?

Working with a Ferguson TO20 that was converted to 12v neg ground system. It has an alternator, 12v coil and seems to be wired correctly according to a diagram for 12v systems. This tractor ran fine for a year or so, but this year, it wouldnt fire right up. After rebuilding the carb, checking...
