    Looks to me the o ring seal to hydraulic manifold has given up. Drain the hydraulic sump and remove manifold. Square O rings.

    I did it on a 871, there is a kit to help extract the rope seal. I broke the seal extractor after I got it started. Ended using a punch and short wooden dowels to chase the bits out. Use neoprene half seals as a replacement. The side seals are a pain, use the fel pro kit.. The nails went in not...

    Heat red hot (think rose bud torch) and squeeze the top shut (spacer at bolt hole). If it is wrong, can you make it more wrong?

    Wrap threaded jet portion with teflon tape. Be careful to keep tape only on the threads. The yellow natural gas tape is thicker and a little easier to control.

    Bad advice. If a spin on oil filter, are you using one with an anti drain back valve? cut an old one open, should be a rubber disk inside.
