    Tietz implement?

I bought a couple of tractors from Bob the first one in about 1975so he must be getting along in years. Nothing lasts forever I guess. Sad though.

    Spin out rear wheel rim.

Allis Chalmers engineer named Walter Streelow was issued a patent for the spinout rims in 1947 and they came out on the WD model tractor in 1948.

    '47 M Update: Finished Bolster

Ken; Forgot to mention that under the brass bushing is a grease seal that probly needs changing (upper bolster shaft) to keep grease/oil in the upper gearbox. Mark

    '47 M Update: Finished Bolster

Ken; It's fun watching your progress, You may want to look at the wear points inside the bolster upper gearbox. There are several, one easy one to fix is the ball bearing on the worm shaft, another is the brass bushing on the bolster shaft (still available) also the ball bearing at the bottom...

    '47 M Broken Bolster Bolts

Ken if it were me I would use a cutting tourch and blow one of those broken bolts out then take a tap and see what the threads look like after cleaning. I have used this method on several AC's (WC's/ WD45's) Mark

    Tractor Insurance

I have two tractors insured with Hagerty and have been well pleased although I haven't had any claims. Give them a call and tell them what you do and where you go with your tractors and see if they will cover all your needs.

    Farmall H fan belt

If you do brake the adjustment ring you can buy them new. Most of us have broken them at some time in the past but don't like to admit it. To change the ring more stuff has to be removed from tractor. While I was at it on my M I thot it would be a good time to rebuild the water pump. Mark

'47 M - Stopped at the machine shop

I'm with you on the phone call deal, I find it very hard to go back to business when they won't let a guy know why they are not done or havent started yet. On the other hand it will be fun to put the engine together when you finally get the pieces back.

    Trailer deck lumber question......

What ever wood you use make sure to install it the right way up. Look at the end grain and put the board on with the growth ring circle up so water sheds like a hay stack and not holding water like a cup. Do the same when you build a deck onto your house.

    1947 Farmall M Update

I've been waiting to hear how your M is coming along. At some point these projects always seem to become "endless" but then one day while you are working on it you will look around and realize there is only one more piece to put on and she will be ready to start. Keep us posted, Mark
