    Im just finishing a restoration on a ‘57 JD 420U. New engine, clutch & bearing, surfaced flywheel. Starts, idles low and runs up on governor, nothing wrong.     Thanks, that’s what I was thinking too. I’m still not sure about the one on the clutch side. I can’t think of a reason to lock the clutch in the disengaged position. Maybe to make a quick adjustment to the PTO? But that would be dangerous.
