    JD 14T...is it worht it?

I have two such balers in working condition. One I paid 250 for at auction and the other for 900. The 900 one has the older style bale length measuring arm on it. You don't want that. The 250 one did not look like much at auction but turned out to be the better of the two. We painted it and use...

    3020 throttle brake discs

My 3020 gas throttle used two small discs that are similar to brake lining. I ordered new ones from Deere and they sent me two plastic discs. The ordered part no's were correct. Where can I get the brake type discs? Those plastic ones do not work. I also have a 3010 gas with the long tube for...

    Allis 160 at Saturday sale

This tractor sells Saturday and I might be interested. How are parts availability for this one? Are these Perkins reliable? This one is low hours and has been taken care of. I am thinking this would be a good starter for my grandson. I am all green here.

    O/T, fastest 4wd pickup you've been in...

My 70 Toyota was pretty fast before it got totaled. Youngest son clipped the guard rail at the Kempton Drags. I won many drags at East Coast 4 Wheel Drive events over the past 30 yrs. I ran a full race Buick 231 V6 engine and saginaw four speed trans. Now a days I run all the guts from the...

    seeding over old grass hay

Most of that still applies today, But around here you can get more from horse owners than cattle guys. My best prices so far this yr have come from second yr alfalfa/orchard grass. Made some of my best hay from that ground this year. It all went to horses at a premium price. All local delivery...

    Kutztown Produce Auction

Auction hay prices were strong this week compared to last week. Alfalfa in the $290 range with good grass hay not far behind. I did not catch any straw prices. The crowd looked a bit larger than normal. I tried pictures with my new camera, looks like I need work on the close ups.

    Kutztown Produce Auction

I will be there tomorrow morning at 9 for the hay auction. Will be selling a load of hay and maybe buy some melons. Look for the guy with the cowboy hat. On a side note, I have been planting Candy Onions and really like them. This yr they have turned out to be real strong in taste and smell. I...

    seeding over old grass hay

If the field is smooth now I agree with the frost seeding in late winter, early spring. Orchard grass and Timothy will take hold of that.

On topic,,,,pictures from the produce market in PA

Those blackish watermelons are the best and sweetest melons and seedless too. I usually get there on a Saturday morning with a load of hay for the auction. All nice people to be with.

Welding on corn head snapping rolls

I would like to try and build up the snapping rolls on a JD corn head. I have a bunch of old ones to play with. A couple have been built up at some time and looks like they used stainless as the weld is shiny. I have an electric welder and a mig welder with gas. Suggestions.

    john deere 14t baler problems

I agree with what Bob says. My 14t jumped time this spring. Did exactly what you are talking. I spent an afternoon timing it with manual in hand. First time I tried, it did not work. Second time was the charm. It has not missed a bale since. Patience and a manual.

    Hey Grandpa, what's for supper?

Wife took me to Applebee's for my birthday supper. Had a Cowboy burger loaded with fried onion, raw red onion, lettuce, pickle and tomato with fries on the side. A guy gets tired of Homemade BLT's, cucumber salad, cantaloupe, coffee and chocolate cake.

    New tractors vs older tractors

My 2 cents. Newest tractor is a 3020. Couple yrs ago I went over everything with new this and all the other parts. I spent more than a new 3020 but it has held up since. I just had a problem with starting it, turned out the solenoid ground was no good. Other than that it has been good for the...
