An update is in order I guess. Sprayer is up and running. Plumbing was a nightmare. Constant changes to make the hoses to the pump, and other connections, bend as little as possible. It seems that the modern hoses kink easier. I never had this problem before...- farmersamm

That's done right. The plowed ground should look like a table top. No signs of individual furrows, or gaps when the moldboard throws the soil. Not saying you can't use aluminum. The OP's truck bed is practical, and lightweight. All of the things aluminum is good for. But you do have to realize that there will be maintenance issues. It's a tradeoff- farmersamm

A lot of the old Freightliners had aluminum frames. Lot of you guys might not remember, or know. Those frames were known for cracking. Terrible service life.- farmersamm

It's a tradeoff. Steel with excellent weldability, unlimited fatigue life if designed properly. Aluminum with its weight limiting characteristics, but with terrible weldability, and verifiable limited fatigue cycles. Aluminum can approach steel fatigue life if the members are upsized. I know it sounds harsh, but I've seen all sorts of failures. Stock trailers that constantly need repair. Crude oil tankers that have numerous weld failures (even with good TIG welds). It's a messy material.- farmersamm

Loonimum is a great material. It gives you a lot of opportunity to practice welding. Cold welds that break Dirty substrate that causes welds to break. And..........wait for it...........limited fatigue life, that causes everything to break. Good stuff. But it does fill a need to limit...- farmersamm

Called the folks at Hypro today about running high pressure on the pump. You can run the pump at 300psi all day long......................if you accept the fact that it will wear out faster.
